Cooking with Real Sirop de Liège 900 g

With a large jar, you will no longer hesitate to use it as an ingredient:

  • in the sauce for boulets à la liégeoise (Liège-style meatballs);
  • to soften a carbonnade or a brown sauce;
  • in a meat marinade or a vinaigrette;
  • in desserts, on crêpes and waffles.

And of course, it is still perfect on bread or with a cheese board, Herve cheese in particular.

In the region, people also speak of “sirop de Herve” or pear and apple syrup: it is the same speciality, born in the orchards of the Pays de Herve (Herve region). Each syrup maker keeps its own recipe, sweeter or richer to a greater or lesser degree. For inspiration in the kitchen, the syrup works offers on its website a recipe for boulets à la liégeoise with syrup (in French), along with ideas for desserts and accompaniments.
