Data collected and purposes
- Orders: name, addresses, email, phone, order details. Purpose: to process, deliver and invoice your order, and to call you when an order for collection from the shop is ready. Legal basis: performance of the contract and accounting obligations.
- Customer account: username, contact details, order history. Legal basis: performance of the contract.
- Newsletter: email address, only if you sign up. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by writing to info@chezpopol.be.
- Contact: the information you send us by email or phone, so that we can reply.
- Visitor statistics: browsing data, only if you accept the relevant cookies. Legal basis: your consent.
Recipients
Your data is never sold. It is only shared with the service providers needed to run the shop: the website host (Hostinger), our web agency for website maintenance, the payment provider (PayPal), the carrier (DPD) and, if you consent, Google (audience measurement and advertising). Newsletter sign-ups reach us by email and are not entrusted to any external mailing service. Some of these providers may process data outside the European Union, with the safeguards provided for by the GDPR.
Retention period
Data relating to orders and invoices is kept for the period required by Belgian accounting and tax law. Account data is kept for as long as the account is active. Newsletter sign-ups are kept until you unsubscribe.
Cookies
The website uses strictly necessary cookies (basket, login, security), which do not require your consent. Cookies for audience measurement or third-party content (Google reviews, Google Maps) are only set after your consent, which you can change at any time via the website’s cookie banner.
Your rights
You can request access to your data, its rectification, erasure or portability, or the restriction of its processing, or object to it, by writing to info@chezpopol.be. We reply within one month. If you believe your rights are not being respected, you can lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (www.dataprotectionauthority.be).
Security
The website is protected by an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Payments are processed directly by PayPal: we never have access to your full bank details.
