Description
The cinnamon Liège waffle follows the recipe of the pearl sugar Liège waffle, deliciously flavoured with Cassia cinnamon. Warm or cold, it is a real comfort treat. It is sold in packs of 2 waffles (180 g).
Cinnamon Liège waffle: pearl sugar and Cassia cinnamon
The pearl sugar stays melting on the inside and caramelises on the outside. Warm, slightly peppery Cassia cinnamon adds a spicy note that goes perfectly with the caramel of the crust.
What is a Liège waffle?
The Liège waffle differs from the Brussels waffle in its thick, brioche-like dough, into which pearl sugar is mixed. As it bakes, the sugar grains melt inside and caramelise on the surface, giving it that golden crust and those little crunchy bits it is known for. Its irregular shape with rounded edges is typical.
How to enjoy the cinnamon waffle
- Cold, just as it is, with a coffee or tea.
- Warm: after a few moments in the oven or toaster, the cinnamon releases its full aroma.
- For those with a sweet tooth: with apple compote, a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of Sirop de Liège (Liège syrup).
Its spicy notes make it a particular favourite in autumn and winter.
